Abstract

  This research examines the theme of intellectual harmony in the nationalistic poetry of Badr Shakir al-Sayyab, a prominent feature of his modern poetic experience. Intellectual harmony refers to the consonance between the intellectual vision and the artistic structure of the poetic text, reflecting an integrated unity between meaning and style. This harmony is manifested in al-Sayyab's ability to express national issues through symbolic poetic imagery and evocative, impactful language. He also demonstrated a balance between his personal experience and collective concerns, imbuing his poetry with a profound human dimension. The research focuses on analyzing selected examples of his poetry to reveal the most prominent manifestations of this harmony. It demonstrates that political and social circumstances played a significant role in shaping his poetic vision. It also posits that al-Sayyab successfully employed modern techniques to serve his nationalistic ideas. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach to studying the texts. The study's significance lies in deepening the understanding of the relationship between thought and form in modern poetry. It concludes that intellectual harmony contributed to enhancing the aesthetic and semantic value of al-Sayyab's nationalistic poetry.
